HIGHWAYMEN CHRISTMAS SPECIAL!
The Highwaymen were made to do a Christmas show, and a Christmas show is the reason The Highwaymen exist. Johnny Cash did ten Christmas specials starting in 1976. In 1984, Johnny reached out to his long-time friend Waylon Jennings and asked him to bring along Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson to the Christmas show he was doing in Montreux Switzerland. After filming was over for each day, these four men got along so well they would have parties each night. During these after-show parties, they decided to do an album together called Highwaymen.
If it wasn’t for Johnny doing these regular Christmas specials and for being good friends with these other three men, we would have never had The Highwaymen. The Highwaymen Christmas Special will replicate the highlights of that 1984 show by performing songs like White Christmas, Blue Christmas, Silent Night, and The Little Drummer Boy, Always on My Mind, Ring of Fire, Luckenbach Texas, and Me and Bobby McGee.
Note: We are in the process of putting together a promo video for this show. The existing video is the general promo but will give you an idea of what the show entails.
